The Party Wall Surveyor
Anstey Horne were instrumental in the introduction nationally of the Party Wall etc. Act 1996.
With this expertise and the largest team of specialist Party Wall surveyors based across the UK, we draw on a wealth of experience to advise developers and neighbours alike on how they are affected by the Act and other construction related issues.
For many years we have looked to share our expertise with the rest of the industry by giving talks and seminars to the Pyramus & Thisbe Club (founded by the late John Anstey in 1974), the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and many other professional organizations.
This has left us with an rich archive of presentation material dating back many years.
One such example is this talk on the role of a Party Wall surveyor by Graham North for NBS TV programmes which dates back to 2011. The talk includes reference to Roadrunner Properties v Dean (2003), a case that covers the consequences of apparently minor works.
Despite the passage of a decade Graham’s explanation of the Party Wall surveyor role remains just as valid today as it did at the time.
