Charity Dragon Boat Race
Anstey Horne are sponsoring a brand-new event for Hospice UK – the Dragon Boat Race at Surrey Quays on Thursday 7th July.
Every year the team choose a couple of charities to support, and this year we’ve chosen Hospice UK and the Brain Tumour Charity.
We’re kicking off our support for both these worthy causes by roping in eleven unsuspecting Anstey Horne colleagues into a team to take part in the race, hoping to be crowned Hospice UK’s first ever Dragon Boat champions.
About Hospice UK Dragon Boat Race
Hospice UK makes a huge impact in supporting hospice care across the United Kingdom every year, from raising awareness, fundraising, through to providing specialist clinical knowledge, grants, and expertise.
They have several campaigns to raise awareness, get people talking about this difficult subject and tackle inequality in access to hospice and other forms of end-of-life care, believing that everyone has the right to high quality care and support at the end of life.
The chances are we all know someone who has been cared for by a local hospice. It could be a colleague, a friend or someone in your family. Sadly, more than 100,000 people die every year without the end of life care they need.
That is why we are so keen to get involved and would also ask for your support. We would be delighted and touched if you could please help us raise our target of £2,000 for this wonderful charity by donating to our JustGiving page.
